Director of Children and Family Services

Schenectady County is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader to serve as Director of Children and Family Services.  This position oversees all aspects of child welfare operations including child abuse/neglect investigations, family support services, foster care, and adoption. 

The Director is responsible for the operations and management of the division, strategic planning, program development and budgeting.  The position works with other county agencies, schools, and community agencies to develop strategies for coordinated and comprehensive service planning for children and families.  The Director reports to the Commissioner of Social Services.

The successful candidate will possess a Masters degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related human services field, and seven years experience in human services that shall have included five years of both supervisory and management experience.  Candidates must also possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
