Genesee County DSS is seeking qualified candidates for the management position of Director of Administrative Services. The position involves direct oversight of the fiscal and operational functions of the Department. He/she plans, directs and coordinates all accounting functions including disbursements, personnel payroll, purchasing and reimbursement claims processing for Federal, State and grant aid. Heavy emphasis on agency budget preparations and ongoing monitoring of expenditures and revenues, including preparation of numerous reports using Access and Excel. Oversees the Departments computer systems (IT) unit and records management unit, and acts as facilities operations director including supervising operation of the county switchboard. Directs various medical support services and cost avoidance initiatives related to the Medicaid program. Interprets policies and develops administrative procedures for implementation. Administrative supervision is received from the Commissioner.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management or related field, and minimum of four (4) years experience in a managerial/supervisory position which involved planning, directing and coordinating the work of a substantial staff assigned to units performing several separate functions, including management information systems. Master’s Degree may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the managerial experience requirement. Experience in a county Department of Social Services or other public social welfare agency is highly desirable. Salary Range: $47,440-$59,235.
