DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES
A dedicated professional is being sought to oversee and monitor community mental hygiene services offered to residents of Jefferson County. This position monitors contracted services by reviewing service delivery, conducting needs assessments, training agency personnel, and providing services to ensure compliance with federal and state mental hygiene laws and regulations.
Services include psychiatric, psychological, diagnostic, treatment, counseling, prevention, and education. The incumbent also oversees preschool programs for disabled children and early intervention programs for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. The work is performed under the general supervision of the County Administrator and the incumbent also reports to the Jefferson County Board of Legislators and the Community Services Board.
Minimum Qualifications: a). NYS licensed and board eligible psychiatrist, neurologist, pediatrician, or psychologist; or, b). NYS certified social worker with Masters deg. in social work; or, c). Masters deg.
in psychiatric mental health nursing and RN license; or, d).Masters deg. in rehabilitation counseling, psychology, social work, public health administration, public administration, hospital administration, human service administration, or business administration; AND, five years of progressively responsible clinical and/or administrative experience in a recognized program providing services for individuals who have the diagnosis of mental illness, mental retardation, developmental disability, alcoholism or substance abuse; two of the five years experience shall include functioning in an administrative capacity with responsibility for management of the overall direction and control of a program.
Salary:
$65,567 - $84,314 based on education and experience. Excellent fringe benefits including health insurance and NYS Retirement.
