Company to pay for Medicaid fraud
Dutchess and Ulster counties will receive more than $150,000 in a nationwide settlement of a Medicaid fraud lawsuit filed against the pharmaceutical firm Bristol-Myers Squibb, state and county officials announced Tuesday.

Proposed cuts in Ulster County would exceed $885,000
Ulster County Administrator Michael Hein on Wednesday unveiled proposed spending cuts that he said will help the county weather the uncertain fiscal times ahead.

County highway department goes to four day work week
In an effort to save money on fuel, the Rockland County Highway Department will move to a four-day workweek, County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef announced Wednesday. The county expects to have over $10,000 in fuel costs to county highway vehicles with the changed schedule through the fall.

The county Department of Planning will hold a public presentation of the recently completed "Greenway Plan for the Mohawk River Corridor" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Common Council chambers at City Hall.

Oneida Co. to receive $116,947 in Medicaid fraud settlement
Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente announced today that Oneida County will receive a nearly $117,000 settlement in a Medicaid drug price fraud lawsuit. 

Oneida County board to vote next week about airport privatization
The Oneida County Board of Legislators will vote next week on a 10-year contract to privatize the county airport.

Natural gas drillers may have to wait a bit before they get down to business in the Southern Tier.

Casino: Feds, Senecas seek court transfer
The federal government has filed a motion in U.S. District Court asking that a lawsuit filed by a group led by the Citizens Against Casino Gambling in Erie County be transferred to the National Indian Gaming Commission for further review.

WESTERN NEW YORK
Paterson to veto bills that would weaken control boards
Separate state-appointed control boards have a constant grip on City Hall and Erie County government.
