  • 2006 Legislative Summary
    On June 23rd the State Legislature completed the regular 2006-07 Legislative Session following a flurry of last minute deals that resulted in a total of 958 bills that passed both the Senate and Assembly. Counties will benefit from a number of agreements between the Governor and Legislature, many of which were included as part of the final state budget. 
  • 2006-07 Enacted State Budget-Impact on Counties
    While the enacted 2006-07 state budget was celebrated as the second on-time budget in over two decades, it will instead be remembered as one of the most contentious on record.  The unprecedented showdown that occurred between the Executive and Legislure over Constitutional budget authority has significant implications that could affect how state budgets are set for years to come.
  • 2006 Legislative Agenda
    The 2006 NYSAC Legislative Program was adopted following enactment of the local Medicaid Cap, which represents the most significant mandate relief measure provided to local taxpayers in over 40 years.
