NYSAC testifies about shared service grant programs
Since 2011, the State has created a seemingly endless series of local government shared service incentive programs, some of which were altered before rules were written for the program it replaced, according to the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC), which provided testimony today to the NYS Assembly Committee on Local Governments and Cities.

The Governor and State Legislature have authorized $623 million in grant programs designed to incentive local governments to share services and consolidate. Interestingly, however, there is no record of how much of that funding was actually awarded and spent, according to NYSAC.
