NYSACCounty delegates to convene around state budget and legislative priorities
The NYSAC Legislative Conference will begin in ten days with a series of standing committee meetings, training forums, and presentations on critical issues facing counties today.
Thirteen (13) standing committees will discuss and adopt a series of resolutions designed to set the advocacy direction of the association and its membership.
Twenty-five training forums (workshops) will address timely issues facing counties, including state budget proposals, indigent defense, social media policies, 9-1-1 operations, cybersecurity, ridesharing, AirBNB, public health functions, veterans programs, and other topics designed to inform county officials.
Three conference-wide presentations will be focused on the state of state's finances, economic trends, and the opioid addiction crisis.
The Women's Leadership Roundtable will convene its inaugural meeting, and aims to support and encourage women holding public office.
The conference will close on Monday with a state Emergency Management Certification and Training Program.
