Local Updates to Census Addresses: July Mailing to Local Leaders

The US Census will be sending a notice to local government leaders in anticipation of efforts to update household addresses for the 2020 Census.

The US Census Bureau will be sending a notice to local government leaders this month in anticipation of efforts to update the household addresses for the 2020 Census. In 2018, counties, local governments, and tribal governments will have an opportunity to update the addresses that will be counted as part of the 2020 Census. LUCA is an effort to ensure that all New Yorkers are counted as part of the upcoming national population count. At stake is federal funding for a range of programs and services, and also federal congressional representation. NYSAC will be providing more information in advance of the July Census mailing.
