Monroe County Executive Elected to NYSAC Board

Hon. Cheryl Dinolfo Elected to Board of the NYS Association of Counties

DinolfoMonroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo last week was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC). In her role on the Board, Dinolfo will represent Monroe, Wayne, Livingston, Ontario, Yates, Seneca, Cayuga, and Steuben counties. Previously, Dinolfo served as a Director at Large, a position she was appointed to in September 2017.

NYSAC represents New York's 57 counties and the City of New York in Albany and Washington on matters germane to county governments, and informs county officials and the public about issues that impact county governments across the state.

An attorney and former small business owner, Dinolfo was elected as Monroe County's 6th County Executive in November 2015. Her priorities, as the chief elected county official, include strengthening economic development, fiscal responsibility, and promoting good government. Prior to her election as County Executive, Cheryl served as Monroe County Clerk for over 11 years, during which time she was elected President of the New York State Association of County Clerks (NYSACC) in 2014 and named NYSACC "Clerk of the Year" in 2010.

"Cheryl's wealth of experience in county government is a true asset to the NYSAC board, and we are fortunate to have Monroe County's voice as we work on behalf of taxpayers in New York State," said NYSAC President and Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell.

"I believe strongly in NYSAC's mission as a strong advocate for counties and local taxpayers. The Association plays a critical role in conveying the county perspective on policy development in Albany and Washington. I am honored to have this opportunity to represent our region on its board of directors," said Dinolfo. "I look forward to sharing the perspective of Monroe County, and learning from my colleagues in counties across the state."

"We are honored to have County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo continue her work on our Board of Directors representing Western New York. Her experience in county government, her steadfast leadership,  and her commitment to NYSAC will serve our members well," said NYSAC Executive Director Stephen J. Acquario.
