NYSAC News Magazine Recognized with Association Excellence Award

The magazine was recognized for excellence in publications.

On Thursday, February 7, 2019, the New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) received an Association Excellence Award from the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE), a group representing professional association executives employed by trade, business and other professional associations.

NYSAC's official publication, NYSAC News magazine, received the Association Excellence Award for Publications/Magazines.

The magazine, published three times a year, features in-depth articles written by staff, association members, and experts in the policy areas covered.

The magazine has been in publication for over 30 years, and has undergone several changes in format, design, and content. In 2018, the organization undertook a redesign of the magazine, looking specifically at how it could better serve NYSAC members. Through a thoughtful layout redesign alongside their graphic designer, a new focus on broad issue themes, and a commitment to quality articles, NYSAC elevated the magazine to a publication that truly reflects the association's mission.

“We're proud to publish a magazine that carries out our mission to represent, educate, serve, and advocate for New York's counties and the thousands of elected and appointed county officials who serve the public,” said Stephen Acquario, NYSAC Executive Director. “Thank you ESSAE for this award. It means a lot to NYSAC to be recognized by our colleagues in the association world, who understand the important work of serving and supporting members.”
