The Position
The Schenectady County Finance Department has an opportunity available for an Accounting Supervisor. This supervisory position is responsible for overseeing the classification of a variety of receipts and expenditures, supervising all cash management, performing cash flow analysis and for coordinating the computerized system of account keeping.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a Civil Service tested position and all candidates must pass a Civil Service Examination when exam is next offered.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications to be considered:
Possession of a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management or a related field and two years of experience in the field of accounting; OR
Possession of an Associate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management or a related field and four years of experience in the field of accounting.
Candidates should possess a thorough knowledge of intermediate governmental accounting principles and procedures; good knowledge of computer accounting practices; and the ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of others.
