Plastic Bag Ban Resources

In April 2019, New York became the second state in the nation to ban single-use plastic bags in stores. This legislation comes after years of advocacy and deliberation about how to reduce the environmental impact of single-use plastics. NYSAC’s whitepaper served to educate county officials about what to expect after the legislation took effect on March 1, 2020.

NYSAC also created a model resolution and FAQ document to support counties with implementing this law.
