Full-time Information Technology Director sought for the Madison County Information Technology Department.  This is an administrative and technical position responsible for the assessment, development, provision and review of information technology services for all County departments.  The incumbent is responsible for formulating policy regarding information technology and related services and recommending same to the Board of Supervisors for approval.  The incumbent will advise County department heads and members of the Board of Supervisors regarding hardware/software requirements, program development and training to build and maintain effective information technology services for the County.  The work is performed under the general supervision of the Board of Supervisors and County Administrator with leeway for the exercise of independent judgement.  Supervision is exercised over County Information Technology Department staff.  The incumbent performs related work as required.

This position is a Managerial/Confidential (M/C) position that includes a M/C benefit package.

2025 Hiring Salary:  $110,710/yr

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:

(A)     Possession of a Bachelor’s degree, in Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related field AND four (4) years of full-time paid experience, or its part-time equivalent, in information technology services with two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR

(B)      Possession of an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field and six (6) years of full-time paid, or its part-time equivalent, experience as described in (A) above; OR

(C)      An equivalent combination of training and experience as outlined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.

NOTES:

1. Degree(s) must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education.  If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States and its territories, the candidate must provide independent verification of equivalency.  A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the internet at http://www.cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/degrees.cfm.  Candidates will be required to pay the evaluation fee.

2. Advanced study in a college, university or business school accredited by a regional, national or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education may be substituted for the experience on a year for year basis. 

3. Candidates must possess a valid New York State driver’s license at time of appointment and maintenance of said license for the duration of appointment.
