I Love My County Poster Contest
This spring, NYSAC is launching the “I Love My County” Poster Contest — a new statewide program inviting fourth grade students across New York to create original posters celebrating their counties and the people, places and services that make their communities special.
Each participating county runs its own local contest using a complete kit NYSAC provides at no cost, so no county has to build a program from scratch to take part.
The contest is held during National County Government Month each April, giving counties a ready-made way to bring that recognition directly into local classrooms and help students discover how county government touches their lives every day.
It’s also a natural extension of NY Counties Lead, NYSAC’s effort to tell the story of how counties strengthen communities across New York. Through students’ eyes, the contest offers a fresh and creative way to celebrate the places we call home — and the important role counties play in making them great places to live.

Selected posters from across New York will be featured in the NYSAC News magazine, highlighted on NYSAC's social media, and shared on the NYSAC website — giving fourth grade artists statewide recognition for showing county government at work.
The Fine Print
Each student may submit one poster. Posters must be the student's own original work — no clip art, traced images, or copyrighted characters, and no corrections or additions by a teacher or parent. By signing the entry form, the student's parent or guardian consents to it being publicly displayed and reproduced — including in county materials, on the NYSAC website and social media, and in the NYSAC News — with credit to the student by full name, grade, and school. Posters remain the property of the student and their family, and are returned to the school after judging, or after any temporary local showcase a county chooses to hold.
