County Attorney, Sullivan County

The Sullivan County Legislature is seeking a COUNTY ATTORNEY. The County Attorney is appointed by the County Legislature and heads the Department of Law. The County Attorney shall be admitted to practice law in the State of New York and shall be a qualified elector in Sullivan County at and during the tenure of appointment. The County Attorney shall serve on a full-time basis and shall not be employed by any private or governmental entity. The term of office of the County Attorney shall be that term for which the then members of the appointing County Legislature were elected (January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2027). Except as otherwise provided in this County Charter or the Administrative Code, the County Attorney shall be the sole legal advisor for the county.

Minimum Qualifications: A) Shall be admitted to practice law in the State of New York ad shall be a qualified elector in Sullivan County at and during the tenure of appointment.

Salary: From $150,000 to $170,000 based on qualifications and experience. Excellent benefit package.
