The Power of the MEGA Partnership

The Municipal Electric and Gas Alliance (MEGA) is a 25-year-old aggregator of electricity, natural gas and renewable power. Our mission is to achieve the most competitive prices for electricity and natural gas for our member local governments and schools to minimize the cost of energy and maximize stable supply.

Created in 1998 by Tompkins and Tioga County, MEGA is a Local Development Corporation overseen by local leaders from member counties, schools, and local governments. MEGA conducts a public bid for the supply of electricity, natural gas and other energy products and services. We presently serve over 270 counties, municipalities, and school districts.

MEGA is proud of our partnership with NYSAC and their history and service, helping the local leaders who serve millions of New Yorkers across the state.
