2025 Legislative Session Summary

Last week, the State Assembly adjourned for the year, capping off the final stretch of the 2025 Legislative Session.

In total, the Senate and Assembly passed 856 bills through both houses.

We have prepared our annual Legislative Session Summary report detailing those bills that may have an impact on county government operations.

We will be updating the report periodically throughout the year as the Governor begins to consider whether to sign or veto these pieces of legislation.

While the regular session has concluded, the Legislature is expected to return this fall to address the anticipated impacts of federal budget cuts. Although the agenda will likely be limited, there is always a chance additional legislative items could be taken up.
